Description - 6 miles with two locks; or if depending on public transport to return to start, add 2 miles for turning round at Holywell to get back to St Ives. See link for bus timetable. If you are able to use two cars the Old Ferry Boat Inn is an ideal place to finish (parking with permission of course)

A wide flood plain leading to the fens. The Great Ouse breaks up into many braided streams in this stretch, with backwaters to explore. Beware of some weirs at side of main river which have little warning. (route)
