How to get there - Carnforth is on the A6 trunk road. Leave the M6 at junction 35 (map)

Suggested Launch Site - Small parking area off A6 adjacent to canal at Thwaite End Bridge. Alternative parking and launch site is available adjacent to the canal in the town centre.

General Description - An easy 8 mile journey on a lock free stretch of canal. Skirting the town of Carnforth the route passes under the M6 before meandering through pretty countryside with great views towards the Cumbrian hills.The end of navigation at Tewitfield (map) has a picnic site but can be noisy from the nearby M6 which is met again. (route)
